When a client in Flint, Michigan, needed to shine in a demonstration of mass transit rail cars for Grand Central Railroad, cleanblast, inc., was the company they chose to do the job. A possible mass transit rail system between Ann Arbor and Detroit was at stake.
cleanblast, inc., arrived to clean, prep and restore rail passenger cars that were showing their age. Seating and fixtures had been removed so that the cars could be refurbished top to bottom and brought back to better-than-new.
cleanblast, inc., used a dry ice blast cleaning process to remove old paint and debris. We chose to use dry abrasive, because wet or water-based blasting would damage the vintage cars, and taking that extra level of care was of utmost importance to the client and to us.
We then cleaned and prepped all surfaces of the cars, inside and out. Because of the age of the cars, cleanblast, inc., had to remove several coats of interior paint. We took no short cuts, but remained on schedule to complete the project to the highest standards.
Finally, we made sure the cars were properly prepared for priming and painting. The finished project was ready for a one-day demonstration of the proposed new high-speed rail system.
